ClarionMiND Released At IDF

Clarion has rolled out its ClarionMiND at the ongoing Intel Developer Forum (IDF), bringing a portable GPS navigation system that is powered by Linux and boasts full Internet connectivity as well. It will share many features as found on current GPS systems, including a 4.8″ 800 x 480 resolution touch screen display, audio and video playback in addition to Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free conversations while you’re on the road. This is one Internet-savvy GPS system, featuring viewers for YouTube, Google Maps, MySpace, and weather. Other specifications are :-

  • Intel Atom processor

  • 512MB RAM

  • 4GB internal memory

  • Two USB 2.0 ports

  • SD memory card slot

Sounds like a pretty comprehensive in-car device to have. No idea on pricing, but it will ship sometime in Q4 this year.
