Inflight Cell Phone Survey
05.21.08

A recent survey showed that nearly 75% of passengers agreed that cell phone usage on airplanes ought to be restricted to silent features only, but I say take the pro-active approach and purchase a pair of noise-cancellation headphones and make sure your iPod is fully charged before that long haul flight. Around 60% of consumers responded that they would want to use silent features such as text messaging, e-mail access and online gaming while in the air. There is an overwhelming consensus in respondents of all ages that there should be a designated area for passengers to carry out their conversations so that the general peace would not be disturbed. As for me, the Internet is all I need, so I would loathe to see an “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” message while on board.
